Roy Wood Jr. To Lose Radio Show?

Roy’s popular radio show on Birmingham’s 95.7 Jamz looks to have come to an end. According to him his popular morning show will no longer be on the air.

The AL Reports:

Roy Wood Jr. says his popular morning show on Birmingham’s urban radio station FM-95.7 JAMZ is over, although co-hosts and radio executives aren’t so sure. Discord broke out on-air Thursday when co-host Brian Hedrick, known as B.Money, mistakenly received an email around 6:30 a.m. saying the station had decided to take the Roy Wood Jr. Morning Show in another direction. After alerting listeners of the situation and taking calls, the show ended abruptly. Wood said he was shocked to hear about the email because he met with Cox Radio last week to plan for upcoming guests, future shows and election coverage. ”I thought we were pretty set with what my role would be. But I guess not,” said Wood. Wood, who is in Los Angeles filming the TBS show “Sullivan & Son,” said that the possible end of the show could have something to do with his travel schedule. According to Wood, he spent three months in LA working on the production of the show and another two months on a promotional tour, but he had been working on his radio show remotely. ”My presence hasn’t really fallen off that much because of the (TV) show,” he said.Wood said he became aware of the situation on the radio this morning through social media and phone calls.”Radio is the only job where you’re the last person to know that you’re out of a job,” he said.
